What Makes You Feel Alive?

In a world abundant with external noise about what humans ought to do, coupled with uncertainties in life/career/relationship choices, we fall into a trap where we either live in the past with feelings of guilt and regret or we become anxious due to constant fear of the future- the unknown.

Living in the moment is rarely encouraged because the very nature of mindfulness contradicts how we are conditioned to live. We are taught to save, invest, go to post-secondary school, find a partner etc. in the hopes of a brighter future.

Yet what most people fail to realize is that living in the present is what encourages a higher quality of life. When your mind is free of clutter from the past, you can focus on today and thrive in the moment.

Staying in the past chains you to your old self. It does so by withholding your ability to go out in the world to meet new people and create new memories.

Being anxious about the future is like trapping a bird in a cage because it’s too scared to fly. The anticipation that something will go wrong prevents you from taking chances and risks to go forward.

I feel the most alive when I am immersed in a passion that I enter a “flow” state of mind. I lose track of time because the only thing on my mind is my passion.

The passion does not come from another person, it comes from the soul. Creativity feeds my soul like no other. Find what feeds your soul and makes you feel alive.

Live today as today and allow yourself to fly.
